We are Fred Hardy and Sue Trower and we live in Ramsey, just a few miles from the coast of Dovercourt in Essex.
We moved here from Dagenham after deciding that having had Newfies for well over a decade, we wanted to breed them and in order to start our breeding programme properly, we needed more space, and because of our ever increasing pack, needed somewhere with very few neighbours.
Sidney our Brown boy
We therefore created 'Freddybears Newfoundlands' and have had a few successful litters. Our aim is to continue producing healthy, chunky puppies for people to enjoy as much as we enjoy their own.
Newfies are addictive. At present we have 10 Newfies and a Dogue-de-Bordeaux, so you can imagine that all our spare time (and money!!!) is spent on feeding, grooming, socialising and basically taking care of the dogs.
We have 6 black, 3 Brown and 1 Landseer at the moment. We have been in the business of working dogs for quite a while now with swimming & carting and have been actively involved with various working groups, as we feel that this keeps the dogs active and the Newfies minds stimulated which in turn makes for a healthy dog.
